Actress Clare Buckfield was stunned at how amazing it made her feel to ice-dance with her strong, enigmatic partner for the latest TV series of Dancing On Ice
“Andrei is like a gentle giant!” she gushes. “He’s a strong, silent Russian. I think he’s sexy!”
And there’s more – he makes her feel like a mere slip of thing…
She sighs, “I said ‘There might be a few extra pounds there,’ but he lifted me with one arm! It’s like dancing with Patrick Swayze. I trust him completely."
And preventing the Steel River Blues star from slipping is vital. Poor Clare took a few knocks during training, most painfully pulling a muscle under her ribcage. Ouch!
“Because I had this rib thing I hadn’t fallen over for a couple of sessions and when I did, it was like ‘OK, that hurts, but I can work through that.’
“But I’m a bit of a clumper! And it’s a big thing trying to stop. First of all I learnt how to crash, so that’s how I first stopped!”
By the time she joins us for Dancing On Ice – the Tour, we’re confident that Clare will be gliding like a professional across the ice at your local venue.
