Rugby star Kyran Bracken wowed audiences and judges alike from his first appearance in Dancing On Ice. Having shared the pitch with an array of hulking and formidable opponents during his career with The Rugby World Cup winning squad, Kyran’s ability to work with the rather more dainty Melanie Lambert was touching and revealing.
Indeed, Kyran has looked to fellow sports star David Seaman as a role model after the previous TV series. He reckons that if the giant goalie can glide like a swan, then so can he!
“David Seaman was by a mile the best skater last year,” he enthuses, “A 6ft 5 bloke whizzing round the ice! I’m going to follow his example.
“And I’ll wear whatever they put me in," he adds. "I’m not bothered about the sequins. I’m really looking forward to putting on a full routine and then doing it on the show and getting judged!”
It’s just as well Kyran’s feeling gung-ho, because some of his pals are threatening to make his life more than a little difficult when they come to ‘support.’
He admits, “Some of the rugby boys want to throw stuff at the ice in a bid to knock me over!”
What they will make of him continuing his ice-dance career by appearing in Dancing On Ice – The Tour, we have yet to discover!
