Nicky Slater was almost born on ice! His mother and father were British and World Professional Ice Dance Champions and Nicky followed in their footsteps as an ice dancer. He was Junior World champion, 3rd in Europe, 5th in the World and competed in two Olympics. His Charlie Chaplin rendition with Karen Barber won international acclaim.
Since then Nicky has obtained a Masters in Marketing, been Marketing Director for a National Charity, and thereafter an international show producer working with Olympic gold medallists and top entertainers in partnership with Robin Cousins.
Nicky says his work as a judge is, “ Both fun and challenging in equal measure. I want to help everybody to be the best they can be, but you have to stand back – as the judge – to be absolutely fair; no matter what the pressure or anybody’s reputation.”
