Chief judge Robin Cousins won the World Free Skating Championship gold medal three times, and sealed his amateur ice skating career by winning European Championship gold and taking the Olympic title at Lake Placid in 1980.
You might think that someone with a career such as Robin’s would not be easily awed by a bunch of celebs taking to the ice... but that’s not the case.
“I was very impressed by what the celebrities achieved in such a short time. The male stars have the disadvantage of having to lead, and to lift their female partners. Plus the "real" skaters have to able to trust them as partners! As with any sport it's those who have the knack and talent versus those who don't quite have the knack but have the desire to learn - at all costs. - It makes for compelling viewing.”
We're delighted that Robin is joining the UK tour of "Dancing On Ice - The Tour" to continue the important job of leading the judging panel of skating experts.
